Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I’m on vacation with family and friends on Whidbey Island right now. My Thanksgiving was spent cooking in the kitchen, watching LOTS of Martha Stewart, and enjoying time with friends/family (Wii bowling and Apples to Apples!!!).

Check out more of my Thanksgiving photos here.

Here are somethings that I am thankful for:

  • Supportive friends and family – I am so thankful to have so many people in my life that support me and all my shenanigans. My mom is amazing and my dad is adorable (pictured above with the canned cranberry sauce, his favorite)!
  • Being involved in roller derby – Roller derby has provided me with so many opportunities that I am so thankful for (travel, community involvement, and being part of a diy non-profit). This sport has also allowed me to grow so much personally and is constantly challenging me physically as well as mentally.
  • Amazing local (vegan) food – Living in the Bay Area is such a blessing when it comes to food, especially as a vegan. Some of my favorite local places to eat are: Hula’s (Monterey), Vegetarian House (San Jose), Trader Vic’s (Palo Alto), Souley Vegan (Oakland), and Luna Park (San Francisco). I feel like such a spoiled vegan!
  • The fabulous folks that make up the Silicon Valley Roller Girls – The skaters are like the sisters I always wanted but never had. The refs are like cool older brothers. My fellow coaches help take the league to new and exciting places. As a league we come up with silly inside jokes, know how to throw down at brunch, and how to make the most of every situation (someone missed their flight and we have to wait at the airport an extra two hours? No problem! We will just sit around doing homemade mad libs). Oh…..and we sometimes skate together 😉

So much to be thankful for! What are you thankful for?
